The purpose of the Scriptures are to reveal for us, God: The Word: His Words
world: kosmos: orderly arrangement, that is, decoration; by implication the world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its inhabitants, literally or figuratively [morally]): – adorning, world.
lust: a longing (especially for what is forbidden): – concupiscence, desire, lust (after).
watch: to keep awake, that is, watch (literally or figuratively): – be vigilant, wake, (be) watch (-ful).
stand: to be stationary, that is, (figuratively) to persevere: stand (fast) abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, lay, present, set (up), stanch, stand (by, forth, still, up)
faith: persuasion, that is, credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly constancy in such profession; by extension the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: – assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. convince, be (wax) content, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield.
